I tested an old LE1700 (now $250) and a newer J3400 (now $300) for illustrations in Photoshop CS3, and both are perform incredibly smooth with their Wacom stylus. XP Tablet Edition is very compact and not so much RAM-hungry as Win7, so there was no lagging or skipping at drawing whatsoever. The Motion Computing tablets are still the best solutions for art students and professionals on the budget, who can’t afford to buy Wacom Cintiq ($2,999 new) or the latest Wacom Companion ($1,500 new).
