I’m excited to share with you today the ultimate mobile display accessories. Espresso makes two portable USB-C touch screen displays – a 15-inch and a 13-inch. At just 5mm thick with aluminum construction, they are the thinnest portable touch screen monitors in the world! And their three key accessories make for the ultimate mobile office. First, there is the flip case which doubles as a Surface-Pro-like kickstand. Then, there is the Mount Go. And finally, the Mount Pro.
Mobile Display Accessory Must Have: The Espresso Flip Case
I have the 15-inch Espresso Display. The Flip Case is an accessory that should be bought with it. It is well structured, making it ideal to protect the screen’s frame when it’s in my bag. There is a hinge embedded in the front cover that will fold to use as a kickstand. The trick with the Espresso accessories is magnets. The Flip Case simply folds over, bending at the hinge ready to sit on your desk or table. The magnets keep the flip case firmly attached to the display. Flatten out the front and fold it back into place ready to slot back into your bag.
The Flip Case is surprisingly heavy at around 700g. Coupled with the 900g of my 15-inch display and it does add up to it a little bit of extra weight for your travel kit. I assume that the 13-inch version would be a little lighter on both counts. Either way, it’s worth every gram when you need it though.
The flip case is an essential protective accessory if you intend to travel with your Espresso Display and it will fit nicely into your travel kit. It’s also handy to have on the display to protect the screen when I’m not using it.
The Espresso Mount Go Mobile Display Accessory
Another one of Espresso’s mobile display accessories that I received is the Mount Go. The Mount Go is a double-hinged stand made from lightweight aluminum. This accessory folds flat when you’re not using it and it weighs less than the Flip Case at about 480g. Again, the design embeds some strong magnets in this metal plate for the simplest yet firmest attachment.
In my home office, I like to have my Espresso Display alongside my Surface Studio on Teams calls. So the Mount Go enables me to have the display nicely elevated, making it much easier to use. The magnetic attachment is extraordinarily strong and holds the monitor in place perfectly. And you could quite happily sit a webcam on top of it too.
When you need to adjust the stand, don’t pull on the display because you will detach it. It’s no big deal but you might find yourself fumbling around a little. Make the adjustments using the kickstand itself.
Helpfully, this simple magnetic design even lets you mount the display in a vertical orientation. You will need to manually change the orientation of the screen, which you can change in the Settings app, under ‘Display’.
The Espresso Mount Pro Mobile Display Accessory
The Mount Pro is just the mounting plate from the Mount Go. But instead of the neat folding hinge, there is a Vesa mount pattern. So, you can fix the magnetic plate to a display mounting arm. There are lots of potential applications for that. For example, you could see the Espresso Display mounted on a fixed monitor arm at point of sale. It could then be removed and locked away when it’s not in use. This would be perfect for a small cafe, shop, or a pop-up store. Or you might have one of these arms mounted in your office, and then grab the monitor and take it with you when you’re going home or travelling. It’s a fantastic accessory that completes the ultimate mobile office ecosystem.
Why I Love Espresso
As far as mobile workstations, Espresso provides the best quality options. Their mobile display accessories are the most reliable and simplest to use that I’ve come across. I love the fact that this crew didn’t just stop at making a good looking, capable display. They’ve put a lot of effort into developing an ecosystem of simple accessories, enabling the product to be used by real people in a variety of situations.
