At last we have a solution for the many customers who use the Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro in the field. It’s called the Samsung Grip Assist Case and it is a protective field case and carry solution.

There is a retractable grip at the back of the tablet that locks into 8 different positions. The case is polycarbonate with a matte finish. The Grip Assist provides corner protection and should save the ATIV’s Gorilla Glass screen in the event of a short drop.

Unusually the hand strap is a little a the small size and only just fits my large hand. l wouldn’t want to use it like this for long periods.

The case allows access to all buttons and ports easily, but the keyboard is not with the Grip Assist.

If your considering a tablet for use in the field then you should also consider the Fujitsu Q702 with its Stylistic Case that we received here recently. The Stylistic Case is a much more comfortable solution than the Grip Assist Case and the Fujitsu setup allows you to use the keyboard without removing the case.

Removing the case constantly to fit the keyboard could be an issue so we would recommend using the Microsoft Wedge Bluetooth Keyboard instead if you plan to use Grip Assist.
